Database Administrator

Experienced Database Administrator to provide efficient and accurate administration, analysis and technical support for a wide range of IT systems, databases and application tools.

Heavily focused on delivering results, providing exceptional customer service and bringing with you an inclusive and a collaborative team approach, you will also be able to demonstrate further qualities that include:

  • Previous experience working in database administration - both Oracle and SQL Server ideally
  • Ability to work well in a distributed/remote team environment
  • Ability to work on a range of client projects
  • Consultancy mindset and ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel
  • Well-developed organisational skills

To be successful in this role we envisage you will have ability and experience in the following:

  • Oracle database administration in large enterprise environments (12c, 18c, 19c)
  • SQL Server database administration
  • Knowledge of high availability processes (DataGuard, RAC, Always On etc)
  • Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
  • Database performance Tuning and Capacity Planning
  • Database software installation and patching
  • Perform database Health Checks
  • Perform database Backups and Recovery

Furthermore, experience and competence with the following is highly advantageous:

  • Amazon Web Services (RDS) / Oracle Cloud / Microsoft Azure
  • UNIX/Windows scripting skills
  • Oracle ODA experience
  • Oracle Middleware, WebLogic
  • PostgreSQL
  • Unix/Windows Administration and Scripting
  • Terraform
