Spread over two sites, our client provides a range of engineering solutions and services including fabrication, welding, on-site work and machining. As General Manager, you will be required to manage and supervise the performance and operations over both sites.

Relying on your well-developed business acumen and expertise, this role will draw on your:

  • Experience in managing teams
  • Operational ability, including scheduling work, providing business expertise and supporting staff where required to resolve issues
  • Ideally, a thorough knowledge of general engineering, and relevant regulations and codes.

Duties you will be covering include:

  • Managing and supervising daily operation of two workshop production sites
  • Scheduling and delegating jobs, and managing progress
  • Managing, developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Producing, managing and verifying job documentation, CAD models and shop drawings
  • Preparing and managing quotations and estimations
  • Completing site visits, site measuring etc
  • Managing Human Resources

To cover these successfully, we envisage you will have:

  • Proven track record of enabling business success through strategic and operational excellence
  • Strong operation management skills to successfully navigate heavy workloads and pressure, multiple demands, unforeseen difficulties and challenges within tight time frames
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise and problem solve
  • Well-developed communication skills and a proven ability to build meaningful relationships, influence and win respect through delivery
  • Ability to identify areas of quality improvement, and contribute to the continuous improvement of operations, processes and strategies
  • Experience working within OH&S guidelines
