Our Clients operate the Whakapapa and Turoa Ski Areas, and have a fantastic opportunity for a Lift Mechanic to join their team – Yes! this is a year round role.
Joining the energetic and dedicated Maintenance team, as a Lift Mechanic your main focus will be the maintenance of the ski area lifts, as well as other transportation equipment and systems in use in both Ski Areas – which includes the Sky Waka Gondola. While prior experience working on similar systems is ideal, if you have a thirst for development, training on the specific systems/equipment will be offered.
While routine checks and scheduled maintenance plans are in place, no two days at the Ski areas are the same and at times the ability to change plans will be required to ensure lift operations continue on as smoothly as possible.
Tasks of this role will include:
- Daily lift servicing and pre-start checks
- Scheduled maintenance and repairs
- Strip down and rebuild servicing, overhauling and maintaining lift systems and components
- Upgrading and replacing parts to new technology and systems
While specific lift mechanic experience would be great, it isn’t essential. To be successful in this role you'll bring a balance of the following skills and attributes:
- Trade qualification; diesel, petrol, marine, avionics or engineering
- Experience working at heights, including the use of relevant abseil and safety equipment
- A broad knowledge of maintenance related skills
- The ability to take the initiative and work unsupervised when required
- The ability to effectively organise and manage a range of priorities
- A great attitude and willingness to learn
- Pride yourself on quality work and safe work practices
