Mechanical Design Engineer

Our Client is a well-established engineering firm based in Lower Hutt.

They have a great opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on a temporary basis. Working out of their well appointed work shop, this role will be assisting a highly experienced team with a short term project.

Role Details include:

6 week project starting ASAP
Design structures to go on rail carriages: All materials working with are mild steel
Do all the calculations and then present for verification from a Chartered Engineer

Ideally, we are looking for a candidate that has:

Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience
Strong engineering and design capability with the ability to produce practical designs that reflect: suitability, manufacturability (within tight timeframes) and cost effectiveness
Proficient in the use of design software, namely SolidWorks

If you have the professional experience we are looking for and also have:

High level of attention to detail
Effective problem solving
Able to work in well and communicate with an established team
