National HR Manager

This is a role for an assertive HR professional that can bring knowledge, energy and experience to the table and can confidently share, guide and advise on all matters HR. Internal support will be in the form of an HR Coordinator, National Recruitment Coordinator, and National Training Manager, all being under your guidance. Further external support will be available from company lawyers and industry experts when required.

Joining a substantial company comprised of 14 branches throughout New Zealand and employing over 1200 staff, this comprehensive role will provide robust HR support across the business.

As the subject matter expert, you will be the driving force behind the implementation of HR best practice company wide and working alongside the leadership team, you will be the inspiration to create cultural change throughout the business.

Varied and challenging, this role will see you overseeing, advising and implementing various HR projects and initiatives covering:

  • Managing change processes.
  • Leading the implementation of a new HRIS and support HR systems processes including LMS.
  • Collective bargaining, redundancy, and restructuring
  • Learning and development
  • Managing relevant legislative compliance including policies and procedures, employment agreements, managing ER casework
  • Recruitment and retention
  • Employment and industrial relations including Collective Bargaining and supporting Fair Pay Agreement negotiations and implementation
  • Performance management

We envisage to be successful in this role you will bring with you:

  • At least 5 years of HR Generalist experience, with demonstrated record of achievements covering employment relations experience e.g., conflict resolution, workplace disputes, disciplinary process
  • Prior experience within a unionised organisation
  • Experience with HRIS implementation
  • Experience in HR processes involved in large Acquisition/Mergers and the transfer of Labour force thereof.
  • Thorough knowledge of NZ Employment law and H&S Legislation
  • Ideally qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Commerce or equivalent
