Operational Risk Analyst

Are you a Risk Analyst with experience in Financial services, Investment or Retail Banking and are wanting to challenge yourself?

Our client is a Global Investment Bank providing Financial Services and Solutions and among the world leaders in the securities services industry.

Their mission is to ensure smooth and secure financial transactions for their clients (banks, brokers, institutional investors and corporates) and to protect their assets across all markets. Clients such as fund managers, insurance companies, sovereign-wealth funds, superannuation funds, brokers and investment banks, commercial banks, major companies and issuers.

Located within the operating entities, the role of Operational Risk Analyst is to ensure the continuous operational risk management framework is implemented and adequately adapted where needed.

The Operational Risk Analyst reports directly into the Senior Risk Manager.

Our Client is looking for someone with strong Stakeholder engagement skills

  • Wellington Based
  • Risk Analyst experience required
  • Financial Services experience required
  • Permanent Hybrid Role.

Your General Responsibilities would be:

  • Identifying and assessing operational risks they are exposed to and in defining a risk appetite;
  • Applying the corresponding risk monitoring and mitigation framework (including segregation of duties, controls and incidents management);
  • Ensuring the continuous implementation and adaption of this framework and improvement actions as required;
  • Ensuring awareness of risks and providing training on the risk framework;
  • Developing risk monitoring tools; and,
  • Ensuring transparent monitoring information to their reporting lines, the independent control functions, the governing bodies and the supervisors.

Do you have the following?

  • Tertiary-level qualification (essential)
  • Expertise in the execution of an ORMF
  • Expertise in the execution of a CMF
  • Knowledge and experience in financial services. Knowledge of custody and fund administration (highly advantageous)
  • Knowledge and experience in an external/internal audit
  • Knowledge and experience in a Line 2 Compliance or Operational Risk teams (highly advantageous)
