IT Project Coordinator

Our client’s company is a genuine and trusted organisation that is focused on the wellbeing of New Zealanders, providing support and services to families and communities across the country.

Currently they have a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Project Coordinator to join their fun and energetic IT team for a 6 month fixed term contract.

Coming in the midst of a major IT transformation, the Project Coordinator role has been created to work closely with the Project Manager, IT team, vendors and other stakeholders to implement projects that support the IT strategic deliverables and implement exciting new system upgrades, and to collaborate on business led projects.

While varied and challenging, this role will offer you the opportunity to:

  • Coordinate a range of key project activities including scheduling and running meetings and workshops, preparing agendas, minutes and papers.
  • Prepare and maintain project documents including plans, reports, registers, stakeholder presentations, communications, and dashboard.
  • Track and report on project finances, including purchase orders, accruals, and actuals vs forecast.
  • Support the Project Manager and IT team to plan, resource and monitor progress of activities against project plans.

Ideally, this role will suit a seasoned Project Coordinator who is confident in the application of project management principles, methods, and techniques.

Furthermore, to make an impact in this role, we envisage you will also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is preferred
  • Strong communication and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
  • Competent in progress reporting methods and techniques for reporting the progress of activity against plan
  • Proficiency in the use of technology and systems, and in the use of project management tools, for example MS Project
  • Efficient in minute taking, planning meetings and collating papers
