Data Engineer - Contract Opportunity

With some exciting projects in the pipeline, our client is in need of a skilled and experienced Data Engineer on a contract basis. Robust experience in technical delivery across the Azure stack and a strong business acumen is essential.

Experience that will see you add real value to this role and succeed includes:

  • Minimum 4+ years’ experience as a data consultant/engineer/specialist
  • Comprehensive, hands on-work experience with large-scale implementations of Analytics Cloud solutions, including using SSIS/SSRS/SSAS
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure technology stack including; IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Data Lake, Cosmos, Insights, Azure Data Bricks, Azure SQL DQ, Azure Synapse Analytics, PowerApps, LogicApps, Azure Data Factory
  • Strong understanding of complex data analysis using various data analytics tools (e.g. SAS, SQL, R, BA)
  • Design and implementation of end-to-end data pipelines
  • Strong data quality management experience, including master data and reference data management
  • Practical understanding of various ingestion options for on-premise or external data sources
  • Strong background and experience in all aspects of data warehouse and Business Intelligence implementations
  • Confident data modelling skills (incl. understating of star schema)
  • Knowledge and understanding of data governance frameworks and processes (including control and risk management)
  • Experience in designing and delivering data strategies at an enterprise-wide level (and supporting roadmaps, initiatives and programs)
  • Ability to assist with Work Orders / Statements of Work including providing accurate estimates
  • Knowledge and experience in end-to-end project delivery, either traditional SDLC or agile delivery methodologies (or hybrid approaches)
  • Clear written and verbal communications; able to communicate with a wide range of people and to gather requirements and produce written designs and architecture documents.
  • Experience with other cloud platforms; AWS, Snowflake
  • Experience with reporting/visualisation tools including Cognos, Tableau, Qlik, Power BI
