Technical Project Manager

Our client is a global technology company and pioneer of mobile voice recording and intelligent communications surveillance. Offering a service across the world’s financial community, including top banks and inter-dealer brokers in the US, Canada, Europe and Asia, our client provides the most comprehensive suite of products that addresses key challenges around data integration, processing and analytics for the world’s financial community.

Established and secure, our client believes now is the right time to further expand across the globe, and they are looking to build a New Zealand based team to add further depth to their award winning company. Queenstown has been confirmed as the home base for the NZ team and while much of the work can be done remotely, it would be a requirement for all team members to be able to travel to Queenstown on occasion.

A crucial member of this team is the Project/Technical Manager, and that is where you come in. With your obsession to deliver quality client service, exceptional technical skills and commercial experience, you can make a real impact whether it be in meetings with C-Level participants or when delivering complex software solutions to the financial markets. Please be aware that part of this role is likely to include global travel.

Your achievement in this role will be made through your successful execution of the following:

  • Project manage and lead teams to deliver IT solutions to clients including: Planning and implementation, Resource management, Status reporting, Change management
  • Maintaining technical relationships with clients
  • Being an effective escalation point for client issues, incidents or concerns of a technical nature
  • Ensuring smooth delivery of company products and services; including the following Business Analysis activities: Analyse business workflows and data mappings of the different technical financial systems (such as MUREX, Fidessa, Calypso etc.), Analyse the design of technical systems and business models, Produce documents related to the design, outcome and training documents, Develop and update surveillance policies based both on the existing financial regulations and on the specific requests of the clients
  • Assisting the commercial account management team with day to day management and strategic projects – including identifying potential opportunities within existing clients.
  • Delivery of client training.
  • Engaging in professional services activities around bespoke project work.
  • Representing the operations team during the planning and development stages of company products.

With a career history that boasts your work ethic, passion to deliver and ability to manage and lead a high performing team, your experience and knowledge will also include:

  • IT/Business bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Technical Project Management experience
  • At least 5 years as a Business Analysis and/or Project Manager on IT teams in the financial sector
  • Industry qualifications – ITIL Foundation / Prince 2 or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of Front to Back Office processes
  • Strong understanding of market regulations such as Dodd Frank or MIFID II
  • Expertise in the integration of technical financial systems such as MUREX, Fidessa, Calypso etc.
  • Background in Agile and/or Waterfall project and software methodologies

  • Proficiency in Spanish and English
